MLR Issue No. 1 — The premiere issue of this new publication appeared in the fall of  2003 and featured work by poets David Stanford Burr, Helen Barnard, Daniel Lin, and Margaret Peters Schwed, short fiction by Lois Taylor and Syed Afzal Haider, and experimental pieces by John Lehman and Barbara Cranford. In addition to the printed word, New York artist Roy Villa's extraordinary paintings graced the pages of the MLR Gallery.

MLR Issue No. 2 — The second issue of our magazine came out in the summer of  2004. In addition to selected work by poets Susan L. Miller, Joel Allegretti, and Mark Farrell, fiction by Rosemary Mayo, William Conescu, and best-selling novelist Ann Darby, short prose by William Keenan, Jr., and an experimental piece by H. William Taeusch, this edition also featured the paintings of New York artist Rob Galvin.
